As
you can see with the necklace (above), one of the most
startling differences is in the color. The Cloud Dome
casts a neutral white light over the piece. Acting as
a tripod, the Cloud Dome also sharpens the images.

In
this example, another strength of the Cloud Dome is
revealed: seemingly-impossibly sharp and detailed close
ups. With this pendant, the even lighting is startling
in the "after example".

Silverware

Silverware
is one of the most difficult items to photograph, with
the multiple curves and angles that cause hot spots and
glares. Using the angled extension collar with the Cloud
Dome fantastic shots can be achieved.

Tradionally,
all photographers struggle to take good pictures of reflective
surfaces, especially straight-on. With the Cloud Dome,
it requires no special skill or set up time to achieve
the great "after" shot above.

Due
to the metallic printing and glossy coating on these cards,
most cameras' light sensors are confused by the bright
reflections, and the result is a photo with over-exposed
highlights and too-dark shadows. Using the Cloud Dome,
reflections are eliminated and lighting is more consistent
-- even with the card in a protective plastic sleeve.
